hardware store tutorial
And...
I made something that has a function today!! This guy at the hardware store convinced me I could make my own light chords when I just wanted to buy one. And low and behold! I did it! and it works! Here's hoping I don't burn down the house.

to don't
I keep finding spelling mistakes on my blog. I know I'm a poor speller but nothing is more upsetting than knowing that the few people who read my blog also know I'm a poor speller. If you catch a mistake feel free to let me know.
Pigeons in the subway really freak me out, but two days ago on the way to work I had a touching moment with these little guys. I'm also interested in seeing a baby pigeon. I don't think they really exist.

montreal cleanse.
Whew! Montreal is one heck of a town. 48 hours there and I only managed to take a picture of our Valentine's beer n' bagel feast. I spent the night telling/ listening to ghost stories around a loving kitchen table. That may have been my first memorable Valentines Day.
In other lovely news to clarify my last post Robin Lambert and I will be going to Open Engagement the Portland edition! I'm so excited for May! Also this May I'm making a piece for The House that Masons Built! Yey! The Future's so bright...

one a day again.

This weekend I was talking to some friends about the idea of "one a day" blogs. We wondered what a person would do seven months in when the ideas were starting to run dry. How do you cope with comiting to a 365 day project when you're on day 298 and you are out of ideas?
But after looking at my new favorite internet project http://collectionaday2010.blogspot.com and another wonderful daily project by Amy Thibodeau called Lost and Looking. I have been inspired to try my hand at a once a day project.
I love the one-a-day project idea (of course I do since I did one with Rachel Ellison almost two years ago) but I'm not sure if i have the discipline to keep something like that up for a full year. But I'm gonna try? We will see how that goes? maybe a one-a-week project?... already trying to get out of this?
The last time I did the one a day project I used conversations about the prior day to inspire quick line embroideries. At the time i thought a full years worth sewn into a quilt would be a beautiful goal. So lets see what happens? Now to pick a start date.

perogie prance 2010.
I actually made perogies from scratch this weekend. I normally think blogging about cooking and food is a bit silly but i am so proud of these little guys. This weekend I also started working out a concept for a new blog where I try to get people to make the art that Darcy comes up with. I want to make her art dreams come true.
